Glenn R. Pruden

VICE COMMANDER

Glenn was born and raised in New Jersey. In 1968, he was appointed to the U. S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, by the Secretary of the Navy. He graduated on June 7, 1972, receiving a B. S. degree and was commissioned an Ensign in the U. S. Navy.

Glenn's assignments included USS PATTERSON (FF-1061) as Communications Officer; USS BARRY (DD-933) as Operations Officer; and USS HALEAKALA (AE-25) as Engineer Officer. In October 1978, Glenn was granted an inter-service transfer to the U. S. Army as an Infantry Officer with a secondary specialty in Marine Transportation. His Army service was comprised of several command tours, including a mechanized infantry company and the headquarters detachment for Military Traffic Management Command, Europe. He also served as a principal and special staff officer, and Instructor for Marine Transportation Operations and Ship Loading as the Army Exchange Officer at the Navy Transportation Management School in Oakland, CA. While at the Transportation Management School, Glenn attended the University of San Francisco School of Law graduating in December 1986 with a J. D. degree. His military legal practice included serving as a prosecutor at the Naval Legal Service Office, Treasure Island, Command Legal Advisor for Military Traffic Management Command, Europe, and as an Article 32 UCMJ Officer.

Glenn retired from active duty in July 1992, and began his civilian legal career. He worked for the Tennessee Attorney General from August 1992 through December 2001, initially as an Assistant Attorney General and later as Senior Counsel. He served as the Capital Case Coordinator for the State of Tennessee from 1994-2001. In January 2002, Glenn was appointed a Deputy Attorney General in the California Attorney General’s Office in San Francisco and was subsequently promoted to Supervising Deputy Attorney General for the Capital Case Team in 2007. He retired from the California Attorney General’s Office and the active practice of law in October 2019.

Glenn currently serves as the Vice Commander of the Southern Springs Veterans Club. He was married for 31 years to the late Leslie Graham Donovan of Nashville, TN, a former Navy Supply Corps Officer. He has two adult children and three grandchildren who live in California.
